This is one of my spontaneous paintings, where I just dive in without a solid plan or composition in mind ahead of time. When I do this, I just start putting down color, take a step back to assess where it's going, and let it lead me.

This piece grew around the tension between the blue and red, and the pathway between. It's indicative of my leanings towards the mysterious in regards to content and meaning. I don't generally pick a specific subject for a painting, and then say, "This is what the meaning of this piece is." Though that will happen sometimes. More often, I create compositions and imagery that leave the meaning in question, just out of reach. This is one such piece.
